Vic Health – This Girl Can

This Girl Can Week 2020

This Girl Can Week is back from 23-29 March 2020, so get involved!

This Girl Can Week is dedicated to encouraging more women to give physical activity a shot, or return to activity after a break. You’ll see some great offers right around Victoria, all designed to inspire women to get active. Whether that’s to try something new, return to a long-lost activity or visit your local activity providers for a friendly catch-up.

Victorian women – have you been waiting for a sign to get back into being active? This is it! Grab a friend and try a new activity this week, with a number of free sessions on offer across the state. We’ll be keeping a list of what’s on offer, so check back in March to find out about what’s happening in your area. And when you do give something a go, we’d love it if you let us know all about it by sharing your experiences, pics and sweaty selfies using the #ThisGirlCanVIC hashtag – to help inspire other women too.

Campaign Supporters – if you’re a physical activity provider, you can expect an increased demand for your This Girl Can Week offers, with more women out there looking for them after seeing our advertising, so now’s a great time to start planning! Get involved by offering free or low-cost activities for women, or by hosting an event. When you’re ready to promote your activity or event, you can be featured on our website and Facebook event page. All you need to do is create your own Facebook event, then invite the This Girl Can – Victoria page to ‘co-host’ (click here for instructions).

Suggested activity and involvement is outlined below, but please note we welcome any activity, big or small, as a commitment to This Girl Can Week. You may be able to do a lot of what’s outlined below, or just a little – and of course you’re not limited to these ideas, so let us know if there’s something else you’d prefer to offer!
